G7 Week 16 – S2

Last week in science!

Monday, May 27th

Today in science: After seeing an example of how to write a one-sentence summary of a table or graph (figure) and the supporting sentences, students were given the rest of the lesson to work on any of the first three sections of their lab report: Introduction, Method, Results.

Homework: All students should have both their INTRODUCTION and RESULTS sections finished before coming to their next science lesson. At the very end of the RESULTS section, however, students can leave the “Preliminary Findings” section blank for now, as Dr. M will help students complete that task at the start of the next lesson. In other words, all of the “One-sentence summaries” and their “Supporting sentences,” as well as all tables and graphs (figures) should be completed before the next lesson.

Today in science

Homework: Dr. M expects all students to bring 1 paper copy of their completed lab report to the start Friday’s class. It is NOT necessary to print a color copy–a black-and-white printed copy is fine (of course, if you have a color printer then that is the better option, but it’s not necessary). Remember, as discussed in Thursday’s lesson, the only required part of the final RESULTS section is the “Evidence-Based Conclusion” portion–in other words, it is OK to just leave the following portions of the RESULTS sections unfinished (you can even leave them colored blue!): Interpretation of the Finding(s), Unanswered Questions, Sources of Uncertainty, Suggestions for Improvement, Summary – What I’ve Learned.
