G7 Week 19

Last week in science!

Monday, January 20

Today in science: In Dr. Merritt’s absence today (who was out sick), students began watching the “Travelling” episode of the BBC’s The Private Lives of Plants series. For each of the stories presented in the documentary, students were asked to write brief summaries of the different ways plants use to help disperse (or distribute) their seeds away from the parent plant. As modeled by the Guest Teacher, the descriptions were phrased according to this example: “Maple trees make seeds that have aerodynamic ‘wings’ that enable them to glide on air currents and thus move away from the parent tree.”

Homework: There is no science homework tonight.
