What is a banana?

As mentioned in The Oath, weeLABs™ require a gift from your teacher. As an example, let’s imagine that your teacher has given you a single banana like the one shown in the photo at right.

Upon receiving your gift, which will typically be something edible (or drinkable), you will also receive a dictionary definition from your teacher. For example, if you were gifted a banana, you would also receive Merriam-Webster’s definition of a banana from their online dictionary, which is also recorded below…

an elongated usually tapering tropical fruit with soft pulpy flesh enclosed in a soft usually yellow rind.

This is what Merriam-Webster says a banana is. According to Merriam-Webster, this is what we might mean when we say (or write) the word “banana” not only to (or for) ourselves, but also to (or for) others.
