Lesson 1 - Mon, Nov 25 (C, H) & Tues, Nov 26 (B)

Today in science:

B period students continued watching the BBC’s Human Body video and adding another process (or two) to their Sketchnotes. They will finish the video in Lesson 2 (Wednesday).

C period students continued watching the BBC’s Human Body video and adding another process (or two) to their Sketchnotes. They will finish the video in Lesson 2 (Tuesday).

H period students finished watching the BBC’s Human Body video and were given a handout to complete prior to the start of Lesson 2 (Wednesday).

Homework: C period students have no science homework assignment.

H period students have been asked to complete handout 7Bb(5) “Human reproductive systems” prior to the start of their next science lesson, which is Wednesday.

Lesson 2 - Tue, Nov 26 (C) & Wed, Nov 27 (B, H)

Today in science:

B & C periods – These classes finished watching the final scenes of the BBC’s Human Body video.

H period (Dr. M absent) – Working with the wonderful Mr. Williams, students reviewed the major structures, functions, and processes involved in human reproduction. To these ends, students were asked to complete the following handouts in class…

1) 7Bb(1) – Sex cells

2) 7Bc(4) – Human reproduction

3) 7Bc(1) – Sex(ual Intercourse)

4) 7Bd(7) – Pregnancy 2

If/when finished, students were asked to begin working out of the newer Exploring Science 7 book (Frog cover) on the following assignments:

7Bc – Becoming Pregnant, pp. 28-29, answer Qs 1-9.
7Bd – Gestation and Birth, pp. 30-31, answer Qs 1-8.

Lesson 3 - Wed, Nov 27 (C) & Thu, Nov 28 (B, H)

Today in science:

B & C periods – Working with Dr. Merritt, students reviewed the major structures, functions, and processes involved in human reproduction. To these ends, students were asked to complete the following handouts in class…

1) 7Bb(1) – Sex cells

2) 7Bc(4) – Human reproduction

3) 7Bc(1) – Sex(ual Intercourse)

4) 7Bd(7) – Pregnancy 2

When finished with the above work, C period started updating the processes and explanations (the first two columns) of our Sketchnotes project, but B period did not have time left in the lesson to do so because they had one less lesson than the other periods in the past week.

H period – Dr. M collected 7Bb(5) “Human reproductive systems” from any students who missed Lesson 2 (Wednesday). He then asked students to update the processes and explanations (the first two columns) of our Sketchnotes project and then start adding drawings that included the verbs and nouns we identified in the explanations column.

Homework: There is no science homework during the 3-day Thanksgiving weekend.
