Welcome to Headquarters!

Think of the Headquarters as a center of operations, a gathering place, a space for the command and control of both humans and non-humans. From your specially created HQ, you have lots of key information and resources made available to you on a single webpage. As one of his GRADE 7 science students, Dr. Merritt suspects you will spend plenty of time this year making good use of your grade’s HQ.

Grading Scales

ACADEMIC MARKS

As listed in the MS Student Handbook, TASIS employs “a traditional A through F grading system.” (Dr. M has also included short descriptors he often uses for added clarity.)

10 points = The submitted work is timelycomplete, AND meets all relevant standards and/or assignment expectations.

7 points = The submitted work is timelycomplete, BUT does not yet meet all relevant standards and/or assignment expectations.

  • This work can be revised and resubmittted (once) for an improved mark (max. 9 points).

5 points
 = The work is either incomplete OR unsubmitted (not turned in).

  • Incomplete work can be completed and submitted in a timely manner for an improved mark (max. 8 points); NO revision options.
  • Unsubmitted work can be submitted in a timely manner for an improved mark (max. 7 points); NO revision options.

EFFORT MARKS

As published in the MS Student Handbook, TASIS uses 5-point scale for communicating student effort.

5 = Outstanding
4 = Very good
3 = Good
2 = Needs improvement
1 = Does not meet expectations
