THIS WEEK IN SCIENCE!

SS – G6 Week 08

Lesson 1 - Monday, Mar 16 (No Classes - PT Conferences)

Today in science:

Homework: —

Lesson 2 - Tuesday, Mar 17

Today in science: As a way of pulling together the many topics we’ve been studying over these past weeks (e.g., atoms, molecules, elements, compounds, food molecules, food molecule tests, digestion, pH, acids and alkalis) we began creating a study guide in the form of a large (A3) review paper, which organizes what we’ve learned by organ. Students can find and access this document–including a blank copy of it–in the Google Science Classroom. There, students can also access short, supplementary videos to support their learning.

Homework: Each night they have the opportunity to do so, Dr. M is recommending students spend their 20 minutes of designated science homework time on reviewing for next week’s comprehensive Human Digestion quiz. Tonight’s recommendation is to review the topics of the mouth and esophagus.

Lesson 3 - Wed, Mar 18 (C, D) & Thu, Mar 19 (E)

Today in science: We continued our review activity by adding information to our Review Table. Today, we were able to finish both the esophagus and stomach entries and, in some cases, begin filling in some of the boxes for the small intestine.

Homework: Each night they have the opportunity to do so, Dr. M is recommending students spend their 20 minutes of designated science homework time on reviewing for next week’s comprehensive Human Digestion quiz. Tonight’s recommendation is to review the topic of the stomach.

Lesson 4 - Friday, Mar 20

Today in science: We continued our review activity by adding information to our Review Table. Today, we were able to finish both the small intestine and (most or all of the) large intestine boxes.

In addition, we began talking about INV#8 – Eggcellent Villi, which will be the focus of next week’s lessons.

Homework: As per the TASIS MS school homework policy, there is no weekend science homework due on Monday.
