Klass’s Rules for BOXPLOTS

1. A simple boxplot plots the median and four quartiles of data for an interval level variable.
2. Boxplots are best used for comparing the distribution of the same variable for two or more groups or two or more time points.
3. Boxplots are an excellent means of displaying how a single case compares to a large number of other cases.
