Here are some ways of doing science…
HOW TO BE AN EXPLORER OF THE WORLD
How To Be An Explorer of the World is the title of a wonderful 2008 book written by Keri Smith, who has composed other lovely books such as The Wander Society (2016) and The Pocket Scavenger (2013). In it, Smith asks her readers to engage in “top secret” missions to observe, collect, analyze, compare, and document items encountered in everyday life. I find his book to be an extraordinary self-teaching tool for young scientists. Smith’s tips, advice, and strategies for her fellow “explorers” are unrivaled by almost anything found in school textbooks and/or other school curricula.

Student Science is an online resource developed by the Society for Science & The Public, the same society that brings us ScienceNews and ScienceNews for Students, both of which are featured elsewhere on the SCIENCEsEDiment website. Student Science is, by far, one of the best website for students interested in doing science. In particular, middle and high school students should start by visiting their blog, Doing Science, but also by visiting their page devoted to Science Project Resources, which contains a sizable collection of well-vetted links to documents, organizations, ideas, resources, competitions, and more.
