Your Sunday Naturalist was walking outdoors early this morning and the sun was yet to come up above the horizon. This lack of daylight had an interesting effect on the leaves that had fallen down onto the pavement because of the recent rain showers: the fallen leaves–looking bright yellow and orange in the light cast by the fluorescent street lamps–reminded me of stars. I’ve processed these photos through a black and white filter to dramatize their resemblance to the occupants of the late night skies.
The photos are actually meant to be viewed all together, as a composition, as if they were all part of one, continuous, starlit sky.
