Lesson 1 - Monday, May 5
Today in science: Soon after the start of the lesson, students completed the Chapter 3, 1-question reading quiz. Students then had time to begin working on Chapters 4 & 5.
Homework: Chapter 4 of the PPP is due on Tuesday (B period) or Wednesday (C & H period).
Lesson 2 - Tue, May 6 (B, C) & Wed, May 7 (H)
Today in science: Dr. M presented his final, updated model derived from the work we’ve done in Chapters 1-5 of the PPP to students (this model is available for students in the Google Science Classroom). At the conclusion of the presentation, which included a class discussion, students were asked to begin working on an essay-style answer to the Unit 7.4 Driving Question.
Homework: Chapter 5 of the PPP is due on Wednesday (B & C period) or Thursday (H period).
Lesson 3 - Wed, May 7 (B, C) & Thu, May 8 (H)
Today in science: Students were given the entire class period to continue working on 1) Chapters 4 and 5 of the PPP, and 2) their essay-style answer to the Unit 7.4 Driving Question. During this in-class work session, Dr. M gave students back their three-part (graded) WFP Development Portfolio project and held individual discussions with each student. Each graded project came with a 3-page grading rubric communicating students’ strengths and areas in need of improvement.
Homework: Because of a Dr. M mistake, Chapter 5 of the PPP is now due on Thursday (B period) or Friday (C & H period).
Lesson 4 - Thu, May 8 (B) & Fri, May 9 (C, H)
Today in science: Because of a Dr. M mistake (i.e., an assignment not entered into Veracross), students were given in-class work time to complete and submit both their final Power Plant Packet chapter (Chapter 5) AND their final answer to the Unit 7.4 Driving Question. Those that finished with time still remaining in the class were asked to begin creating a Unit 7.5 Initial model of 1) the Earth, and 2) the Earth’s atmosphere.
Homework: The only students with weekend homework are those who still need time to complete and submit their final answer to the Unit 7.4 Driving Question.
